Paxico, Kansas

Our Aunt Peg's Antiques store is located at 204 Main, Paxico, Kansas, a sleepy little town of 207 (plus or minus) residents in eastern/midcentral Ks located in northern Wabaunsee County just off Interstate 70 at exits 333 & 335. Surrounded by farm land on three sides, Paxico is a historic little town near the Kansas Flint Hills and fertile Kansas river basin. The Union Pacific railroad track runs right though town about 1/4 block south of Main street. Just about a block south of town is the meandering stream of Mill Creek. Our town is home to several Antiques & Collectible shops, an old (now unused) grain elevator, Mill Creek Valley middle school, United Methodist Church, R & L Upholstery & Antiques, Hook Set Tackle fishing supply, U. S. Postal Service branch, Wyldewood Cellers Winery, Countryside Feeds (store), Prairie Ghost Gallery, Brown Rabbit Art studio. Nearby is the small community of Newbury, home of the historic Sacred Heart Catholic church.

Thanks for the memories!

As we get ready to welcome the new year, we would like to take a moment to thank all the friends, shoppers, and customers who have visited us during the past year. To paraphrase Ira Price: 'We don't want a million dollars, we just want a million friends (who want to part with a dollar each)'. Anyway we have enjoyed visiting with you (you know who you are) about your collections, your hunt for treasures, your valuable finds (and your errors in judgement--yes it happens to us all once in a while), your memories about the days of your youth, the items that your grandma, grandpa, father, or mother had, etc, etc. After all its all about nostalgia and great memories of the past. Oh, and also interesting to hear you talk about all the things you already have, and that you don't need anything more, however you are searching for another display cabinet, or are adding an addition to your home, or are putting up a building out back in order to store all your treasures. So we are happy to oblige you when you find one more small item in our store.
Thanks for the memories and please come visit our little old store in Paxico, USA!!

Antiques are Green

Today's culture places a premium on 'green' products. Words like reusable, recyclable, biodegradable, restoreable, etc are heard frequently during discussions of modern products manufactured, bought, & sold. We in the antiques and collectibles business feel that we have a prominent place in these discussions. Many of the items that we offer for sale are recycled, restored, and often biodegradable. Generally speaking we like real wood, cast iron, tin, and glass. We can take pride in the fact that we are at the forefront of the 'green' industry, although we do not promote this as much as we should. So instead of going to the 'mart' stores & fighting the crowds, long lines, and indifferent sales clerks, searching for pressed wood and plastic, come see us for real recycled merchandise (often in excellent condition) and experience some good old fashioned home town style vintage shopping ambiance and customer service. Often the buildings that our businesses inhabit have been restored and/or refurbished and are snapshots of our American heritage. Our own business, Aunt Peg's Antiques, is located in just such a historic downtown retail building. Probably about turn-of-the-century in age, it features old tin overhang in front, tall doors and windows, tin ceilings, and creaky wood floors. Our building was updated relatively recently, so it contains modern heating & cooling systems, updated wiring & plumbing, etc. However it still retains its Victorian charm & appeal. Come see us & take a step back in time. You'll be glad you did!! And remember go 'Green' and 'Invest in the Past'!!
